We are keen to visit as many schools as possible to support NEU members and ensure that members continue to have a say in their union.
On Monday 9 July, the Staff Side met representatives of the Sixth Form Colleges Association, the colleges’ national body, to discuss sixth form college teachers’ pay from September 2018.
The attached letter has been sent to the Association of Colleges in support of the FE Trade Union Side claim for a 5% increase on all pay points, with a minimum uplift of £1,500.
The joint Staff Side have submitted a claim for a 5 per cent pay increase for all teachers in sixth form colleges from September 2018.
The claim will be discussed at a meeting of the Sixth Form Colleges’ NJC on 9 July.

NEU's pay and workload dispute continues, and as such, our industrial action continues.
Since late May 2017 there has been an intensive series of negotiating meetings between the Northern Ireland Teachers Council (the teaching unions) and Management Side (the school employers and the Department of Education) to seek a resolution to the ongoing pay dispute (and in respect of associated workload and accountability issues) which has led to the current industrial action in schools.
