Starting Out: Meet the parents & Working in classroom teams (York)

We'll be covering two essential elements of being a new teacher: Your first parents' evening is a daunting task so we'll give you lots of advice for getting it right first time. We will also cover positive engagement with parents and how to approach sensitive and/or difficult conversations with parents. We'll also be exploring classroom teams and how you can ensure a great working relationship with TAs or other professionals you may work with in your classroom. This event is always popular so book early to secure your place!

Induction: making it work for you & Taking students off-site (Newcastle)

This event will equip you with some important information for new teachers. Our first workshop will cover everything you should expect from Induction, what your rights and responsibilities are and how to ensure you successfully flourish as a new teacher. The second workshop will look at school trips and what your responsibilities are in terms of planning, risk assessment, health & safety.

Going into the classroom

Going into the classroom marks the beginning of what will be a hugely exciting and rewarding career. Of course, it can also be quite a nerve-wracking time, but these tips and advice should give you a head start.
