In response to the joint trade union claim for 2017/18, the Association of Colleges (AoC), has made a final recommendation of a 1% increase applied to all salaries, or the sum of £250 where this is more beneficial.
The NEU Political Fund ballot has now closed and we are pleased to report that members have voted overwhelmingly in favour of establishing a Political Fund.
Working with 5 other unions across England and Wales, ATL has jointly produced advice on the application of the proposed changes to the STPCD, including the adoption of pay scales and the application of individual pay increases. This joint advice will be sent to all schools following the formal confirmation of the proposed changes and the publication of the 2017 School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions Document (STPCD).

The government has now published the School Teachers’ Review Body (STRB) recommendations for teachers’ pay from September 2017.
On Monday 3 July, the Staff Side met representatives of the Sixth Form Colleges Association (SFCA), the colleges’ national body, to negotiate sixth form college teachers’ pay and conditions.
The trade union side have now submitted a joint pay claim for 2017/18. The claim includes the following elements.
