I think the stresses and strains of my first week had pinned me to my bed overnight; it was not easy getting up and in to the shower this morning.

To be honest, as I’m writing this the day seems somewhat of a blur, but I do remember spending our afternoon trying to turn a collection of ideas and poems in to a 30 minute harvest assembly, involving 90 pupils.

I can tell already this is going to be a challenge, but it is nice to get involved straight away in the bits of teaching they don’t teach you at uni.

So this is the end of my first week in the job. I am tired, excited, worried, unprepared, overprepared and all kinds of other contradicting emotions, but mostly I am proud.

I have worked hard to get here, so I’m going to enjoy it whilst I can!
