Local CPD
The Derbyshire and Derby branch are delighted to present the first self-esteem workshop in the East Midlands. This twilight CPD session 'is a must' for anyone working with young people.

The workshop will explore the themes around mental health, body image and exam stress and anxiety that young people face today. This will happen by the speaker delivering a first-hand testimonial about their experiences, before applying their knowledge of these universal topics to the specific queries of the teachers and support staff in the training session and tackling issues like how the opinions of ourselves are formed, what it's like being a teen today, and alternative ways to express difficult emotions.

This workshop will be delivered by one of the Self-Esteem Team’s amazing trainers, Maz. As a fireball of energy (who is very much connected to her inner child), Maz is a magnet when it comes to young people wanting to learn from her. Not only is she animated and friendly, she is also incredibly skilled. Having earned her stripes as a supply teacher – popping into schools around the UK connecting with students off the cuff – it has given her the expertise to read any classroom. Oh! And did we mention she holds a world title in Taekwondo?

Audience: Anyone who works in education. This is a FREE event open to ATL, NUT and NEU members.
