FE conference 2017

ATL’s further education sector conference this year will feature lecturer and Masterchef winner Gary Maclean, on how his college skills helped him win the prestigious TV award.

ATL president Shelagh Hirst will open the conference, and then speakers will address the conference theme ‘skills and expertise’ and wider sector issues. We will hear from Richard Atkins, FE commissioner; David Hughes, CEO of the Association of Colleges, and Danielle Brown MBE, paralympian and Woman of the Future award winner.

Danielle’s inspirational presentation will cover how you can overcome stress and gain focus in challenging situations.

We will have a fascinating selection of CPD sessions in the afternoon, plus an update from the chair of our Further Education Sector Advisory Group, Ed Loft, a policy update from ATL policy adviser Janet Clark, and a showcase of some exemplary work that reps have been doing this year. The conference takes place at the HIlton Doubletree, in London, on Thursday 6 July.
